What Twinsburg houses ask of a heating and cooling system

Twinsburg grew fastest in the 1990s, when its population rose from 9,606 to 17,006, which left the city with a large share of two story colonials, many of them well over 2,000 square feet and built with one furnace and one return for the whole house. Closer to the Square and along Darrow Road there are ranches and capes from the 1950s and 1960s still running single stage equipment.

Builder grade systems are the recurring problem in the newer parts of town. A single unit serving two floors leaves bedrooms above the garage cold in January and hot in July, and the original equipment installed in the 1990s and early 2000s is now at the end of its life. Replacement season in Twinsburg is busy.

Twinsburg heating and cooling questions

If yours is not here, call and ask. We would rather answer it now than have you guess.

Ask us directly

The bedroom over our garage is always the worst room. Why?

That room loses heat through the floor above the unheated garage as well as through its walls and ceiling, and it usually sits at the far end of a long duct run. We look at insulation under the floor, the size of the branch feeding it, and whether a damper or a small ductless head is the better answer.

Our furnace came with the house in 1999. Should we replace it now?

A furnace from that era is past the point where parts are easy to find, and efficiency has moved on considerably. If it is still running, we would rather inspect it and give you a timeline than push a sale. If the heat exchanger is cracked, replacement is the only safe option.

Do you cover Twinsburg Township and the Heights as well?

Yes. Our service area covers Summit County, so Twinsburg Township, Twinsburg Heights and the streets near Liberty Park are all on the route. Give us a cross street when you call and we can usually tell you whether a technician is already working nearby that day.
